With the PYREG PX 750, the Abwas\u00adser\u00adver\u00adband Main-Taunus<\/a> has commis\u00adsioned the world\u00adwide most advanced carbo\u00adniza\u00adtion and phos\u00adphorus reco\u00advery plant.<\/strong><\/p>\n

From now on, muni\u00adcipal sewage sludge is sani\u00adtized and recy\u00adcled into phos\u00adphorus ferti\u00adlizer on site in Lors\u00adbach, a climate protec\u00adting and cost-saving manner.
\nIn the applied PYREG process<\/a>, the sewage sludge is first dried using the belt drying system from Eliquo Stulz and then carbo\u00adnized by the PYREG reactor tempe\u00adra\u00adture of 500\u00b0C to 700\u00b0C. This carbo\u00adniza\u00adtion elimi\u00adnates any organic pollut\u00adants such as critical phar\u00admaceu\u00adtical resi\u00addues, micro\u00adpla\u00ads\u00adtics, PAH, PCDD\/F, PCB and hormones<\/strong>. The resul\u00adting process gas is freed from dust and carbon particles by a process gas filter and trans\u00adferred to the combus\u00adtion chamber. Combus\u00adtion takes place with a FLOX\u00ae burner at tempe\u00adra\u00adtures of around 1,000 \u00b0C. The hot exhaust gases arising there heat the reac\u00adtors indi\u00adrectly via the outer shell of the reac\u00adtors. It is ther\u00ade\u00adfore an auto\u00adthermal process and the gene\u00adrated rene\u00adwable energy is used for the drying of the sewage sludge.<\/strong>
\nThe carbon contained in the sewage sludge is perma\u00adnently bound in the gene\u00adrated biochar from bioso\u00adlids. Used as a phos\u00adphorus ferti\u00adlizer in agri\u00adcul\u00adture that biochar closes the mate\u00adrial cycle. And it further\u00admore acts as a stable carbon sink for over 1000 years.
\nThe PYREG PX 750 processes 5000 t of dewa\u00adtered sewage sludge per year (or 16 t per day at 7500 opera\u00adting hours) with 25% dry matter, or 1250 t per year of dried sewage sludge. As a valuable output, the asso\u00adcia\u00adtion gene\u00adrates up to 625 t of biochar form bioso\u00adlids per year with a phos\u00adphorus content of about 15%.<\/p>\n

With the commis\u00adsio\u00adning of this plant, Abwas\u00adser\u00adver\u00adband Main-Taunus is taking a resource-saving approach to the legally required reco\u00advery of phos\u00adphorus from sewage sludge. The goal is to use the reco\u00advered biochar form bioso\u00adlids for agri\u00adcul\u00adtural purpose<\/p>\n
